Il Naso di Fabio

OK. The story I am about to tell you all true, and I will probably be struck by lightening for telling it, but I think it is truly hillarious!

I am not sure if I ever told you about Alex' friend Fabio, who is now his roomate. Well, Fabio has lived in Italy for a few years and while he waits for his pending green card, he has been making and selling chai tea from thermoses throughout Florence. He gets up every morning and makes tons-o-tea. He makes the most amazing Chai in the world and he sweetens to perfection. I have been watching and do hope to figure out his secret soon. Thank goodness i get his tea for free, for I could not afford his prices.

Anyhow, he heads out in the mornings with two thermoses full of tea and little white cups. He goes all over the center to the shopkeepers, construction workers, bankers, painters, restoration workers, tourists, TUTTI! He comes home to refill while he eats lunch and heads out again.

By the end of the day he has sold 150-200 (sometimes more) cups of tea at €1 per cup. You do the math. This guy makes more than most people I know. If I only I had gotten into the tea business.

So, after Fabio left yesterday, Alex asked me if I noticed anything different about him since I saw him last. I said no, and he said, "Maybe his nose is a little different?" I thought for a minute. "NO?" Turns out, our gal Fabio has a penchant for plastic surgery and has undergone 2 procedures for his cute little nose. I wondered why he had a photo of his profile in his room. If the tea business keeps up, who knows what is next. I personally was quite fond of his old nose.
